TheCrazy frelon aircraft is a vibrant tribute to the Golden Age of aviation of the 1930s. Inspired by the legendary Gee Bee Super Sportster R-1, this model captures the aesthetic "Steampunk" and retro of the race monoplanes of the inter-war period. With its drop-of-water fuselage and back cockpit, this wooden model is the most successful aeronautical model in the Ugears collection.

Clock engineering and propulsion

The crazy frelon is distinguished by the use of a helical spring motor, offering fluid and sequential animation:

• Precision spring engine: Power is transmitted via a complex gear system to animate all moving parts.
• Traction winding: The spring is loaded simply by pulling on an integrated winding string.
• Double operating mode: A rotary drum allows you to choose between two animation sequences:
  • Pre-flight check mode: the propeller rotates, the wing flaps are activated and the rudder is animated before the aircraft crosses the runway to reach its take-off point.
  • Taxi mode: The aircraft immediately launched for a ground run of up to 2.5 metres.
